Study at Rose Hulman Institute of Technology
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, also known as RHIT, was originally created as the Terre Haute School of Industrial Science in 1874. The following year the name was changed to Rose Polytechnic Institute and this new school started offering classes from 1883. In 1971, it was renamed the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and it became coeducational in 1991. Currently, RHIT is situated on a 295-acre campus in Terre Haute, Indiana. Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in the fields of applied biology & biomedical engineering, chemical, mechanical & civil engineering, computer science & software engineering, electrical & computer engineering, mathematics, physics and optical engineering, engineering management, environmental engineering, and humanities and social sciences. The athletics department of RHIT sponsors men’s and women’s teams in baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, rifle, softball, swimming, tennis, track, volleyball, and wrestling. The teams compete in the NCAA Division III level, and have won a significant number of national championships. Terre Haute, IN is home to Rose Hullman. Terre Haute is a small city.
