Study at Dillard University
Originally, the Straight University and the Union Normal School were established in 1869. They were later renamed the Straight College and the New Orleans University respectively. The merger of these two institutes in 1930 led to the formation of the Dillard University. The campus of the institute is located in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dillard University offers bachelor’s degrees in arts, science and nursing. Students can choose from over 35 majors that are available in the following academic divisions: Students of Dillard University participate in sports including basketball, cross country, track and field, and volleyball. The teams are nicknamed the Blue Devils. In addition, there are several honor societies in the university. These include the Alpha Chi, Beta Beta Beta National Biological Society, Alpha Kappa Mu, Beta Kappa Chi, Psi Chi, and The Omicron Delta Kappa Society. Dillard is in New Orleans, LA.
