Study at Bowie State University
Bowie State University is a public university located in Bowie, Maryland. It was established on January 9, 1865. The campus comprises more than 24 buildings, and is spread across an area of over 350 acres. BSU offers more than 20 undergraduate majors and 15 masters programs in diverse Course Topics. BSU was the first university in the country to offer a bachelors degree in pedology. The university is organized into the following academic units: Bowie State's athletes participate in the Eastern Division of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association and the NCAA Division II. They are nicknamed the Bulldogs. Bowie State is located in a large suburb, in Bowie, MD. The school is a public institution. Degree levels at Bowie State top out at the Doctoral degree. Course TopicsStudents at the school often study media, computer science and engineering, family and social work, and therapy and counseling. Bowie State SelectivityThe admissions department at Bowie State does not accept all those who apply. In 2007, 60% of applicants were rejected at the school. Most students' verbal SAT scores were in the range of 440 to 443 in 2007. A quarter of students admitted in 2007 scored 430 or higher on the math SAT.
