The College for Creative Studies, also referred to as CCS, was established in 1906. Initially founded as the Society of Arts and Crafts, the organization began offering educational programs in the arts in 1926. It became a college in 1962, and was named the Center for Creative Studies-College of Art and Design in 1975. CCS received its present name in the year 2001.
